As with anything in life, the best way to succeed is to model those who are already successfully doing it, and this applies to fishing knots as well.

What if you don’t know anybody who is a fly fisherman? All hope is not lost.

Head down to your local fishing shop, and they will likely have instructions on how to tie fishing knots. Be sure to take them with you on the trip, and don’t attempt to read them beforehand, because the chances of you remembering what was said is very slim.

Also, try checking online, because you can likely find how to info online that you can just print out and take with you free of charge. The bottom line is, take your time, be sure that your fishing knots are tied correctly before going out, and you will have the most essential part of your fishing done before you even hit the boat.
